has also designed women mentoring programs and implemented internal awareness
systems based on weekly short articles for internal discussion and to increase
self-awareness about gender and diversity subjects.

Bio:
Dr. Cristina Muñiz de la Peña is a psychologist specialized in mindfulness, trauma, family-systems therapy, somatic therapy, attachment, the therapeutic alliance, and multicultural conscience. Dr. Muñiz de la Peña currently holds a private practice in Boadilla del Monte, Madrid, where she provides individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy. Dr. Muñiz co-founded Terra Firma in 2013, a program focused on providing services for refugee and migrant youth and families at the Montefiore Hospital in New York, where she worked as director of mental health services. Currently, she serves as a member of the board of directors since it became its own non-for-profit organization in 2020. She has worked as professor of psychology at University at Albany, New York, and at the Universidad Internacional de la Rioja, in Spain. She’s currently part of the faculty at the Institute of Core Energetics in The Netherlands.

- To help participants identify signs of psychological difficulties
- To learn different levels of intervention and self-care to attend to psychological difficulties

- To learn ways to seek out mental health services
Bio:
Dr. Cristina Muñiz de la Peña is a psychologist specialized in mindfulness, trauma, family-systems therapy, somatic therapy, attachment, the therapeutic alliance, and multicultural conscience. Dr. Muñiz de la Peña currently teaches mindfulness-based therapy at the Universidad Internacional de la Rioja (UNIR) for the Master program in Psychotherapy: Third Generation Therapies. She also holds a private practice in Boadilla del Monte, Madrid, where she provides individual, couples, family, and group therapy. Prior to the pandemic, Dr. Muñiz founded and worked for 8 years as the director of mental health services at Terra Firma, a program focused on providing services for unaccompanied refugee and migrant youth at the Montefiore Hospital in New York. Currently, she serves as a member of the board of Terra Firma since it became its own non-for-profit organization in 2020.

Seminar on Effective Presentation Skills
A fundamental skill throughout the career of a researcher is to effectively
present their research, a paper, a poster or a new idea to other researchers,
industry, and society. Presentation skills are necessary for Ph.D. candidates
to successfully defend their dissertation and for researchers to give engaging
talks and effectively pitch their research ideas during conferences, poster
sessions, networking events and job interviews.
This seminar talk will include advice on how to create engaging presentations,
practical tips and tricks on how to structure a slide deck and a poster and
practice how to best communicate research ideas.

- How to structure a slide deck, depending on the occasion and audience.
- How to keep the audience engaged and be confident presenting and answering questions.
- Practical tips and tricks on creating slides.
