Hi. Thanks for your messages! We have eight groups in total. We could cram all the presentations in a single day, but as I mentioned in a previous message, it would be better to use two days, as you will have more time to explain whatever you think is necessary. Please find the attached to message.
General points:
- The four groups that have members registered in the EMSE will make their presentations on Wed May 26th, in the regular slot for the course.
- The four groups groups that do not have members registered in the EMSE will make their presentations on Wed June 2nd, in the regular slot for the course. Regrettably, that will mean that EMSE students won't be able to attend these presentations, unless they finish their exam quickly and connect to the zoom room (which is a possibility).
- Please aim at a 20-minute presentation. Together with 5 min. for questions, switching presenters, etc. that will probably make it possible to have two presentations in the first 50 min., then a 10-minute break, then other two presentations. The same scheme will be used in the two days.
- I have sorted the presentations in each day using the lexicographical order of the first family name of each group in lexicographical order inside the group. My apologies if I mistook someone's given name for a family name.
- Having 20 minutes does *not* mean you have to fill in 20 minutes. If you think that you will be done in 15 min., then use just 15 min.
- Everyone in the group is expected to present a part of the work.
- Don't use video with sound, as it is not 100% guaranteed that it is going to be correctly broadcast to everyone else. I've had mixed experiences with that.
- I may record the presentations for archival purposes, but I will not post them
Not everyone (or I should rather say: a very small minority) sent group names, so I fabricated them. My apologies to those who sent it after much thinking (I'm thinking on "Lambda Rodinius...")
I hope everything is clear. Please don't hesitate to ask me should there be any question!
Please remember also the deadline to send me the material: it is the same for everyone. Since you should present the material / solution you turn in, this deadline should neutralize the possible advantage that groups that present in the second batch may have.
Best,
