IMDEA Software researcher Kaushik Mallik has been awarded the Ramón y Cajal 2024 research fellowship, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MICIU). This five-year fellowship will support his work on the safe and reliable design of cyber-physical systems; technologies that integrate physical processes with software controllers, such as self-driving cars or power-grid management systems.

Kaushik’s research focuses on developing new formal design principles that place modeling uncertainties at the core of the development process, addressing a long-standing challenge in the verification and robustness of safety-critical systems.

The fellowship will allow Kaushik to build his own research group at the IMDEA Software Institute, advancing foundational methods for the next generation of trustworthy and highly reliable automated systems. At IMDEA Software, we congratulate Kaushik Mallik on this important achievement and express our pride in having him among our researchers.

Part of the grant RYC2024-049116-I funded by MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and the ESF+
