Setchain

The IMDEA Software Institute invites applications for one intern position to work on the development of efficient byzantine resilient algorithms that can serve as building blocks in new blockchain solutions. In particular, the intern will study and deconstruct existing implementations of blockchains core algorithms like Tendermint or Narwhal and adapt them to implement the primitives necessary to build efficient and scalable setchains and evaluate them empirically. Setchain is a new Byzantine tolerant distributed data-structure that implements unordered sets of elements, which is faster than the consensus algorithms used in current blockchains.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background on programming languages and excellent programming skills. Experience in systems and in compiling and deploying software is a big plus. Some experience in Blockchain technologies will also be valuable.
