Communication Manager

The IMDEA Software Institute (Madrid Institute for Advanced Studies in Software Development Technologies) is a non-profit research institute under the umbrella of the Regional Government of Madrid, Spain. The Institute’s goal is to perform the research of excellence required to devise methods that enable the cost-effective development of software products with sophisticated functionality and high quality, i.e., secure, reliable, and efficient.

Description

The Institute seeks to disseminate its research results and their impact on society among the general public. Additionally, the Institute wants to enhance its visibility, in line with the high-quality research results it obtains.

To reach these objectives, the Institute is looking for an on-site communication manager, who will report directly to the Institute management. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with exceptional communication skills, media relations, and content creation abilities. The incumbent should be able to prepare a variety of communication items (media releases, blogs, vlogs, news articles, announcements) in close collaboration and consultation with the researchers at the Institute, as well as manage the Institute’s social media platforms. The job requires occasional travel to events within the Region of Madrid and sometimes elsewhere in Spain.
