Visiting researcher in applications of AI to fault-tolerant computing

The IMDEA Software Institute is seeking a Visiting Researcher to perform research in applications of AI to fault-tolerant computing, including blockchains. The candidate should have an outstanding track record of research, recognized international stature, and excellent leadership abilities.

This position is part of the grant CNS2023-144164, funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033/ and by the European Union “NextGenerationEU”/PRTR

Who should apply?

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related area.
• At least 5 years of research experience in a tenured or tenure-track position.
• Co-authorship of research publications in prestigious international venues.
• Well-established international reputation, demonstrated by relevant roles in the organization of international top conferences, and membership of Steering Committees and Program Committees.
• Proven record of attracting publicly funded research grants and/or industrial contracts.
• Proven experience in building and managing a research group.
• Fluent in English.

Candidates should have a strong background in computer science or applied mathematics.

Duration

The position will start in January 2026 and is expected to last for 8 months.

The IMDEA Software Institute is located in the vibrant city of Madrid, Spain. It offers an ideal working environment, where researchers can focus on developing new ideas and projects. The working language at the institute is English; the knowledge of Spanish is not required.
