Set up by the European Union in 2007, the European Research Council (ERC) is implementing its second work program in H2020. The achievements of these eight years of successful operations as well as the structure of ERC funding schemes foreseen in Work Programme 2015 will be presented. Emphasis will be made on the type of research funded, the proposal submission process, the evaluation procedure and the features of the ERC grants.
