The Regional Minister of Education, Science and Universities, Emilio Viciana, the Regional Minister of Digitalization, Miguel López-Valverde, the Deputy Regional Minister of Universities, Research and Science, Ana Ramírez de Molina, the Director General of Research and Technological Innovation, Marina Villegas and the Director General of Digital Strategy, Ignacio Azorín visited IMDEA Software to see first-hand the lines of research in which the center is working and some of the main projects.
The Director of the IMDEA Software Institute, Manuel Carro, as well as the General Manager, María Alcaraz, welcomed the delegation upon their arrival at the center. After the family photo, researcher Aleks Nanevski was waiting for them at the entrance to make an initial presentation of the Institute in which he explained the importance of software in today’s society and therefore of the research of excellence carried out by IMDEA Software, among other things.
Researchers Juan Caballero, Alessandra Gorla and Manuel Hermenegildo were waiting for them on the third floor. On the way, the authorities passed through the Institute’s data center. Once there, each researcher explained one of the IMDEA Software’s lines of research, mentioning the companies with which they collaborate, as well as the major projects currently underway.
The authorities of the Madrid Regional Government were interested in the work presented and not only asked questions but also made some proposals for collaboration.
The last point of the visit took place in a meeting room where Manuel Carro and María Alcaraz presented the strategic and administrative line as well as the major challenges.
