Today, Tuesday, March 17, a recognition event was held for the recipients of the “la Caixa” Foundation’s Junior Leader fellowships. David Martínez Rubio, a researcher at IMDEA Software, attended the ceremony as one of the selected awardees.
The Junior Leader fellowships are part of “la Caixa” Foundation’s doctoral and postdoctoral fellowship program, which each year supports excellence in research in Spain and Portugal. In this edition, a total of 100 fellowships were awarded, 40 of which correspond to the postdoctoral track, aimed at researchers in the early stages of their careers who seek to consolidate their own research lines.
The fellowship awarded to David Martínez Rubio will allow him to develop his research project at IMDEA Software entitled “Accelerated optimization methods for machine learning: speed and adaptivity.” The project focuses on the use and development of new tools in the fields of online learning and optimization.
These fellowships provide funding for three years, with a total endowment of more than €320,000, in addition to a complementary training program focused on skills such as leadership, innovation, and scientific communication. “La Caixa” Foundation fellowship program is one of the most significant initiatives promoted by a private institution in Europe.
The awarding of this fellowship to David Martínez Rubio recognizes his research trajectory and contributes to further strengthening the scientific activity of IMDEA Software.
