Internship in Blockchain Security

Applications are invited to apply for an internship at the IMDEA Software Institute, Madrid, Spain under the supervision of Dr. Juan Caballero.

The internship will develop an automated approach for generating tags for blockchain addresses from open threat intelligence sources. The generated tags will be used as input to blockchain transaction monitoring approaches, as well as for estimating cybercrime profits. The internship will combine data collection, backend development, and evaluation of the proposed approach.

The internship results could be part of an academic publication and/or form the basis of a Master’s thesis. Candidates that excel may be offered a PhD position.

Who should apply?

andidates should have a B.Sc. degree in computer science or a related discipline. Candidates should have an interest in cybersecurity, blockchain, cyber threat intelligence, and a strong commitment to research. Python programming and tool building skills are required. Good command of English both spoken and written is required.

Working at IMDEA Software

The position is based in Madrid, Spain, where the IMDEA Software Institute is located. The institute provides for travel expenses and an internationally competitive stipend. The working language at the institute is English.

Dates

The ideal duration of the position is 6 months. The tentative starting period is February 1, 2024, with some flexibility.
