Applications are invited for PhD student positions at the IMDEA Software Institute in Madrid, Spain. The successful candidates will work under the supervision of Alexey Gotsman on the design, verification and implementation of distributed protocols for blockchains and large-scale data management. The particular research topic will be determined based on the common interests of the candidate and the supervisor, and can be either theoretical or practical.
Candidates should have a strong background in computer science or applied mathematics.
The position is based in Madrid, Spain, where the IMDEA Software Institute is situated. The institute provides for travel expenses and an internationally competitive stipend. The working language at the institute is English.
The positions are intended to last for the duration of the doctoral studies, which is usually four years.
