Requirements

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

We offer

The selected candidate will join a highly qualified team working in a dynamic, international environment and interacting with cutting-edge technologies. The IT team is in charge of providing IT infrastructure of the highest quality for the researchers and the rest of the staff at the Institute. It also interacts very closely with REDIMadrid, the Research Telecommunications Network for the Comunidad de Madrid, which is managed by another team at the IMDEA Software Institute.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic team in charge of modern software and hardware infrastructure. The Institute hosts Gitlab, Jitsi, Mattermost, and research-oriented services running on dozens of fully-monitored virtual machines deployed on high-end (100+ cores) servers using ZFS and specialized storage hardware for backup and disaster recovery, deployed in a modern data center with redundant cooling and power supplies. The internal network uses optic fiber and hi-speed switches and is connected to the main Madrid network with a 100Gbps redundant optic fiber (managed, as the rest of the Madrid network, by the Institute itself). In addition, we have several multimedia rooms with videoconferencing systems, free EV charging, and the plan of evolving towards using solar energy to increase the sustainability of the Institute. As part of these efforts, the IMDEA Software building is fully controlled by an automation system that takes care of lighting, climate control, and access controls.

IMDEA Software considers the capabilities of its staff as the most valuable asset and pays special attention to their training. It offers flexible working conditions to reconcile personal life with work. The Institute is goal-focused, and the evaluation of performance is based on personal and team achievements, rather than physical presence.
