Postdoc in Security and Privacy in Digital Provenance Systems

The IMDEA Software Institute offers a postdoc position in the area of security and privacy in digital provenance systems. The work may involve a combination of (i) data collection and analysis of globally visible logs available in digital provenance systems, (ii) identification of security threats and privacy leakages in blockchain-based protocols for digital provenance systems (e.g., hardware wallets, layer-2 scalability solutions, cross-chain protocols), (iii) design and evaluation of cryptographic protocols to enhance the security, privacy, scalability and interoperability of current blockchain-based protocols.

The postdoc will work under the supervision of Pedro Moreno-Sánchez.

Who should apply?

Applicants should have an excellent PhD in computer science or a related discipline, with an interest in privacy-enhancing technologies, applied cryptography, and data analysis. Good command of English both spoken and written is required. Experience in supervising students is valued favorably but it is not mandatory.

Working at IMDEA Software

The position is based in Madrid, Spain where the IMDEA Software Institute is situated. Salaries are internationally competitive and include attractive conditions such as access to an excellent public healthcare system. The working language at the institute is English. Knowledge of Spanish is not required. Remote work options will be explored in a per-candidate basis.

Dates

The position has guaranteed funding for 1 year. The preferred starting date is June 1st, 2023, with some flexibility.
