From July 14 to 19, PETS (Privacy Enhancing Technologies Symposium) gathered experts from around the globe to discuss the latest advances in digital privacy technologies. For the past 25 years, **this forum has been the main venue for applied and theoretical research on the analysis, design, and experimentation of new privacy-enhancing solutions **.
In this edition, Diego Castejón, PhD researcher at IMDEA Software, presented his paper “MixBuy: Privacy-Preserving Purchases of Digital Goods with Cryptocurrencies”, co-authored with the institute researchers Pedro Moreno Sanchez and Dimitrios Vasilopoulos.
Their work introduces a protocol for purchasing digital goods with cryptocurrencies, designed to address a crucial challenge: enabling secure and private digital transactions without allowing third parties to infer which products were bought or from which store.
Diego Castejón’s participation in PETS 2025 reinforces our institute’s commitment to advancing technologies that safeguard users’ privacy and security.
