From May 4th to 8th, the RIU Hotel in Plaza de España hosted the 44th edition of Eurocrypt, one of the most important scientific conferences in the world in the field of cryptography, alongside Crypto (USA). This event annually presents the most relevant advances in cryptographic research, selected through a rigorous review process. This year, 624 papers were submitted, of which only 123 were accepted.

More than 650 attendees gathered in Madrid to participate in talks covering various aspects of cryptography. In the days leading up to the conference, twelve workshops were held, focusing on topics such as post-quantum cryptography, blockchain, and privacy, among others.

The IMDEA Software Institute led the organization of the event, serving on the organizing committee alongside Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and Inversed Tech. The team was headed by Dario Fiore, Associate Research Professor at the IMDEA Software Institute and General Chair of Eurocrypt 2025, together with Ignacio Cascudo, also an Associate Research Professor at IMDEA Software, and María Isabel González Vasco, Full Professor at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, who served as co-chairs of the conference.

IMDEA Software also participated as a Gold sponsor, along with top-tier tech companies such as Apple, Google, and Huawei.

With this edition, Madrid joins the select group of cities that have hosted Eurocrypt. This marks the third time the conference has been held in Spain, following Zaragoza (1996) and Barcelona (2007).

Events of this scale consolidate Madrid’s status as an international hub of knowledge, promoting scientific talent mobility and fostering new collaborations between research groups from around the world.
