Research internship in Principled countermeasures against micro-architectural attacks

Applications are invited for multiple research intern positions at the IMDEA Software Institute, Madrid, Spain.

Selected candidates will work under the supervision of Marco Guarnieri on the design, verification, and implementation of countermeasures against CPU micro-architectural attacks.

The particular topic of the research will be determined based on common interests of the candidate and the supervisor, and it can be either theoretical or practical.

The positions are partially funded by a research grant from Intel Corporation.

Who should apply?

Ideal candidates should be final year bachelor or master students in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mathematics with an interest in the aforementioned research topic.

Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus:

Solid programming skills will be highly valued. The position requires good teamwork and communication skills, including excellent spoken and written English.

Dates

The internship duration is intended to be for 4-6 months (with some flexibility). The ideal starting period is spring/summer 2020.
