PhD Software Testing Automation

Applications are invited to apply for a PhD position at the IMDEA Software Institute, Madrid, Spain.

Selected candidates will work under the supervision of Alessandra Gorla (software engineering and automated testing), and will collaborate with José Francisco Morales (compilers and program analysis) and César Sánchez (formal methods and runtime verification).

The topic of the research is to improve the state of the art in software testing automation, with the possibility to collaborate with local industrial partners on the topic.

Who should apply?

PhD candidates should have an excellent MSc or BSc degree in computer science or a related discipline, with an interest in software engineering and specifically on software testing and analysis, and a strong commitment to research. Proven top programming and automation skills are required. Good teamwork and communication skills, including excellent spoken and written English are also required.

Working at IMDEA Software

The position is based in Madrid, Spain, where the IMDEA Software Institute is situated. The institute provides for travel expenses and an internationally competitive stipend. The working language at the institute is English.

Dates

The duration of the position is intended to be for the duration of the doctoral studies. The ideal starting period is starting in September 2020.
