Junior Programmer

The IMDEA Software Institute is seeking a junior programmer. The candidate will work within the RediMadrid network team. RediMadrid is the regional ISP that provides Internet connectivity to the universities and research centers in the Madrid region.

The tasks to be carried out will be, among others:

• Developing, deploying and maintaining software for DDoS analysis.
• Configure and maintenance network tools to monitor core network.
• Server configuration and administration.

Demanded requirements

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

• Good knowledge of Linux, Debian / Ubuntu environments.
• Good knowledge in Python, JSON and HTML.
• Knowledge in JavaScript.
• Knowledge in virtual machines administration: KVM.
• Fluent in English speaking, writing, and reading, there are projects in English language.
• Fluent in Spanish speaking, writing, and reading, there are projects in Spanish language.

Assessable requirements

Following requirements can be assessed:

• Basic knowledge in IP equipment (Juniper, Cisco).
• Basic knowledge in optics communication (DWDM) (CIENA or ADVA is a plus).

Who should apply?

Applicants should have a BS or MS in computer science or telecommunications or be missing some subjects to complete the BS or MS. Experience will be valued, however, experience is not necessary.

Starting date

The starting date will be as soon as possible once the selection process has completed.

The position has a duration of 6 months full-time. The ideal starting period is the beginning of 2021.
